About Our Home
We always wanted to build a home in Bali, seeing as we are a mixed Balinese-Canadian married couple. While working at Green School and living in Denpasar, we set out to find a space that would allow us to be conveniently situated close to the school (15 min), good restaurants and shopping (10 min) and the beaches (20 min). The home was built with sustainability in mind, using recycled teak panels and a refurbished frame. The lighting and water systems were designed to be efficient yet effective, and of course we had to have a property on which we could grow food for our family!
The home has a good blend of indoor and outdoor living,

Why We Love it Here…
“I have seen so many amazing critters on our property, it really feels like an environment that is thriving. When we first started building our house, a draco lizard flew overhead. He still comes by every once in a while. We have a couple monitors who live next to our bathroom, and those guys work better than any cat at keeping less desirable critters (like rats) away. We also harvest bananas, papaya, squash, tomatoes, and other veggies from the gardens around us.”
“Our small road is very quiet, with almost no through traffic aside from groups of local kids biking to and from school each morning. We regularly get out of walks in our area to enjoy the cooler evenings. Our kids can also ride their bikes around the Banjar without any worries from us about the dangers of traffic.”
